Adrian’s love of yoga began when she lived out west in her early 20’s. She wanted to find a way in which to improve her strength and agility so she could eventually pop up on a surf board. She quickly realized yoga embodied so much more than just postures. The yoga aspects of finding balance in our lives, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually resonated with her and reflected her Anishnaabe teachings. Adrian practiced as a yogi for many years before deciding to follow through and complete her 300 hours of Yoga Teacher Training in 2019. The decision to become a teacher of yoga was born out of her desire to learn more about the foundations of yoga. She relates this to the teachings around braided sweetgrass; we must know where we’ve been, to know where we are and to understand where we are going.
Adrian currently teaches Visual Arts at the local Port Elgin high school. In the summer months, she and her three kids love to hike all over the peninsula in search of another favourite swimming spot. She also loves cycling and kayaking with her husband.
Meagan’s yoga journey began with a 30day challenge aiming to focus on the physical elements of the practice and finding so much more along the path. Yoga evolved into a tool she used in her daily life to cleanse state of mind, and open awareness of how to engage in the world from a strong, calm, and loving space.
Meagan returned back home to Saugeen Shores in 2017 after graduating with a dual diploma in physiotherapy and occupational therapy assisting from Conestoga College. Through her career in health care and physical rehabilitation she learned new ways to adapt movement for every individual. As Meagan’s passion for fitness, health and wellbeing continued to grow, she wanted to be able to share her interest with others; completing her 300hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2019.
Meagan loves to pull inspiration from many areas of life, including her keen interest in the biomechanics of the body; finding unique, and joyful ways to flow and play on the mat. She encourages all students to find their own truest expression of postures that encompasses full connection of body, mind, and spirit. She wholeheartedly believes that yoga is for everyone, and has the goal to make the practice as accessible as possible.
